No AWD. No high seating position. No family-sized hatchback. This Subaru has a completely different mission. This 2020 BRZ Sport-Tech has only 61,857 km, was traded in directly by one of our customers and combines a BOXER engine, rear-wheel drive and a very low centre of gravity. In other words: this is the Subaru built primarily for driving enjoyment.
The BRZ is the exception in the Subaru family.
The formula here isn't:
AWD + snow + cottage.
Instead, it's:
BOXER + REAR-WHEEL DRIVE + LOW CENTRE OF GRAVITY.
Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 2.0L BOXER engine producing 200 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque with the 6-speed automatic transmission.
And that automatic includes steering-wheel paddle shifters when you want more control over the gears.

Why the BRZ?
Because it reminds us of something that's easy to forget:
A sports car doesn't need 500 horsepower to be interesting.
Want:
A low driving position?
Rear-wheel drive?
A BOXER engine?
A limited-slip differential?
A genuine compact sports coupe?
That's the BRZ./ Only 61,857 km on a 2020 model./ Traded in directly by one of our customers.
Rear-wheel drive - increasingly uncommon in a compact, accessible sports car./ Low centre of gravity, helped by the BOXER engine layout./ Sport-Tech trim provides a more premium equipment package.
6-speed automatic + paddle shifters makes it easy in traffic while still allowing more involvement when the road gets interesting.
The BRZ Isn't Trying to Win the Numbers War
200 horsepower?
Yes.
But the better questions are:
How much does the car weigh?
Where is the centre of gravity?
Which wheels are driven?
Suddenly, horsepower tells a much smaller part of the story.
Find a Road with a Few Corners
That's where the BRZ starts explaining why it exists.
Low seating position.
Direct steering.
Rear-wheel drive.
BOXER up front.
Torsen differential out back.
And a big smile in between.
